Dr. Regan Nowlan

Dr. Regan Nowlan was born and raised in Calgary. She attended the University of Calgary earning a Bachelor of Science with Honours in 1997. Having completed her Honours thesis on ‘Patient Satisaction following Refractive Surgery’ in conjunction with the Gimbel Eye Centre, she decided to pursue her passion for vision by completing her Doctor of Optometry.

Dr. Nowlan attended the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago graduating in 2002. On completion of many externships in the Greater Chicago area including the North Chicago VA and University of Chicago Hospital, she ultimately returned to Calgary to practice where she grew up. Interestingly, she also attended Bowness High School and so is proud to now be back practicing here in her old neighbourhood!

Dr. Nowlan provides full scope optometric care to patients of all ages and is especially focused on ocular disease and Dry Eye care. Working in a unique co-management situation side by side Ophthalmologists Dr. Ellen Anderson-Penno and Dr. Ugo Dodd allows for amazing patient care and access to ophthalmology if urgent care is needed. Dr. Anderson-Penno also specializes in refractive surgery which allows for in-office referrals and refractive surgery assessments.

In her time off Dr. Nowlan enjoys her time off running, hiking, biking and camping with her husband and two boys. She is a member of the Alberta Association of Optometrists and the Canadian association of Optometrists.
